Why Is Pinterest Not Showing My Pins? (And How to Fix It)

June 06, 2026

You’re pinning consistently, but your content isn’t getting impressions or showing up in searches. Here’s why that happens and how to fix it.

Reason 1: Your Account Is New

Brand-new Pinterest accounts go through a trust-building period. Pinterest limits new accounts’ distribution until you’ve established a posting history. This typically lasts 2–4 weeks.

Fix: Keep publishing consistently — 5–10 pins a day — and your impressions will start climbing. Don’t give up after a week.

Reason 2: Your Account Was Flagged for Spam

If you published a lot of pins quickly, used certain automation tools, or pinned the same URL to many boards at once, Pinterest may have soft-flagged your account — reducing your distribution without an official suspension.

Fix: Slow down your pinning rate, remove any duplicate or near-duplicate pins, and allow a few weeks for the flag to clear. See Pinterest Account Suspended for how to check if you’ve been formally suspended.

Reason 3: Your Pins Have No Searchable Keywords

Pinterest is primarily a search engine. If your pin titles and descriptions don’t include words people actually search for, your pins won’t show up in those searches.

Fix: Research what people search for on Pinterest using Pinterest’s guided search (start typing a topic and look at the autocomplete suggestions). Include those search terms naturally in your pin titles and descriptions. For a full guide, see Pinterest Keyword Research.

Reason 4: Poor Image Quality

Pinterest’s algorithm deprioritises pins with low-resolution, blurry, or improperly sized images. A 150×150px image that gets stretched into the feed will perform poorly.

Fix: Use vertical images (2:3 ratio, at least 1000×1500px). Keep images sharp and well-lit. Avoid text-heavy images where the text is too small to read.

Reason 5: Your Boards Are Too Broad or Mismatched

If you pin a food recipe to a board called “Random Stuff,” Pinterest doesn’t know how to categorise it. Board relevance matters.

Fix: Create specific boards for specific topics and pin each piece of content to the most relevant board.

Reason 6: You’re Inactive

Pinterest reduces distribution for accounts that go dormant. Even a week of inactivity can cause a noticeable drop in impressions.

Fix: Pin daily. If you can’t manually pin every day, use a scheduler. PinPublish keeps a queue of scheduled pins that publish automatically — so your account stays active even when you’re busy.

What Good Looks Like

A healthy Pinterest account sees impressions growing week over week. If yours have been flat or declining for more than 3–4 weeks, work through the list above. See How to Increase Pinterest Reach for a complete growth strategy.
