How to Auto-Create Pinterest Pins From Your Blog

June 07, 2026

Every blog post you publish deserves to be a Pinterest pin — ideally several pins, published over weeks. Here’s how to set up a system that automates this entirely.

The Workflow Without Automation

Without automation, creating Pinterest pins from blog posts looks like this: 1. Finish writing and publishing a blog post 2. Open Canva (or another design tool) 3. Upload your featured image 4. Add your post title to the template 5. Adjust colours, fonts, spacing 6. Export as PNG 7. Open Pinterest 8. Create a new pin, upload the image, add the URL, write a title and description 9. Publish or schedule 10. Repeat for each design variation

Multiply this by every post, every variation, and every week. It’s why most bloggers end up with inconsistent Pinterest activity.

The Workflow With PinPublish

  1. You publish a new blog post
  2. PinPublish’s RSS automation detects the new post via your feed
  3. A pin draft is automatically created using your saved template and the post’s image and title
  4. The AI suggests a Pinterest-optimised title (different from your blog post title)
  5. You (optionally) review and approve the draft
  6. PinPublish publishes the pin to your scheduled queue

Total time investment after initial setup: near zero for routine posts.

Setting Up the Automated Blog-to-Pin Workflow

Step 1: Get your RSS feed URL

For WordPress blogs, your feed is at yourdomain.com/feed/. For other platforms, see How to Automate Pinterest With RSS Feed for platform-specific URLs.

Step 2: Connect to PinPublish

Create a free PinPublish account, connect your Pinterest Business account, and navigate to Automations.

Step 3: Set up your template

Choose a template from PinPublish’s library that matches your blog’s visual style. This template will be used for all auto-generated pins. You can set up multiple templates and rotate them.

Step 4: Configure the RSS automation

Enter your RSS feed URL, select your default board and template, set your posting time preferences. Activate.

Step 5: Handle your content backlog

RSS automation handles new posts. For existing posts, use PinPublish’s sitemap crawler to create pins for your full archive. A 100-post blog can be processed in under an hour.

See Bulk Create Pinterest Pins for the backlog workflow.

Creating Multiple Pin Designs Per Post

One pin per post is the minimum. For best results, create 3–5 different designs per post: - Different template (aesthetic variation) - Different title angle (targets different search terms) - Different focus image (if post has multiple images)

Schedule these 1–2 weeks apart so each pin gets maximum exposure before the next one publishes.

PinPublish makes creating multiple designs fast — switch template, adjust title, schedule. Under 60 seconds per variation.
